The Max and Little Max are handcrafted wooden stools inspired by UK-based design cooperative ParAvion. Influenced by modern Danish design and Japanese minimalism, these versatile pieces function equally well as footstools, ottomans, side tables, bedside tables, or low benches. Designed and built to last a lifetime, they combine timeless design with traditional craftsmanship.

The Max stool features a complex structure made using traditional hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery. These exposed wooden joints highlight the construction and celebrate honest, visible craftsmanship. Each stool is made entirely by hand, with a weaving process that can take up to two days to achieve an exceptionally tight, durable, and uniform seat.

The seat is hand woven from authentic Danish paper cord and is available in natural beige, black, or white. The examples shown are crafted from solid white oak and finished with a subtle whitewashed matte hard wax, enhancing the clean lines and calm material expression of Scandinavian furniture design.

Each stool or bench is made to order and can be customized in wood species, cord type, and finish.
