About me

I was not raised to become a woodworker and maker of handcrafted furniture.

I am a trained physicist with a PhD in fundamental physics. My professional background is in strategy consulting at one of the top companies in my sector, where I led great teams and kept my always curious mind busy solving problems in all thinkable industries.

Ultimately, however, the business obsession with more of everything, more money, more consumption, is one that remains alien to me.

Woodwork and furniture making  has always brought the most energy and joy to me and allows me to bring my curious mind and exacting standards to tangible products, using all my senses and all my talents to make things that people care about, and that will outlast our generation.

 

What began as a mental balance to fast paced consulting-life, has turned into 'Georg-handmade'.
