The Classic Shaker

This is a very classic shaker rocking chair design with cushioned seating from woven shaker tape, and steam-bent back rails and back rests. Despite its sober and simplistic look, this chair is a charm to sit on while reading a book or listening to great music, with a good cup of tea or coffee.

The example on the images is built from Black Walnut with a hardwax finish and black shaker tape for the woven seat. Oak, elm, elm or cherry are other examples for suitable woods.
